Victoria Day 5

Victoria Day 5

Pagliaccis http://www.pagliaccis.ca/

Thanks to my Urban Spoon I found this place... We were craving some Italian food but didn't want to settle for anything mediocre so after a lot of walking we found this place =) When you get into Pagliaccis immediately you notice the history of this place and it's popularity. Around the restaurant there are countless pictures of celebrities. Pagliaccis was so packed! Our tables were so close and the aromas of fresh pasta and the sauces were everywhere. *sigh* Heaven.

First things first, this was my caesar =0

My starter....This was the house salad with a creamy dill dressing...
What I love about this place is that the daily specials are not weekly specials, they are daily specials because the menu is dated on the top. There are some pastas that are celebrity inspired, the day we were there there was the Edward Norton... But we didn't order that.
I'm sure this is the lasagna? I don't remember what exactly was in it. But it was good.
I had the my little chickadee meal. It's different everyday. If I remember correctly it was chicken breast over top mixed fettuccine with a creamy mushroom sauce. This was so good. Simple and delicious!

My Dinner...

Raymond's - 815 Cloverdale Ave, #212

For some reason when I arrived in Victoria, Raju had mad cravings for good Chinese food, I didn't really want to eat Chinese food since it is so amazing in Richmond. Not to mention how shady the Chinese food place looked in Port Alberni... Good thing Raju's Chinese roommate knew where the good food was =) This place was authentic and so good!!

Here is my brothy soup.. I love chinese soups that are clear and sweet.

Chili stir fry shrimp and rice cakes (I am not sure if that is exactly what you call it) but this dish has a kick and is sweet at the same time. I love the use of peanuts in this dish!
Fish cooked in spiced oil. This fish is packed with flavor and spicy!
Asparagus with black fungus. This will probably sound gross to most, but the fungus is chewy and crisp. I don't even know how to describe it. It's good! Trust me!
This was my favorite. This is fatty beef stir fried in a hot chili oil. Yummmm. The meat is so tender...
Some BC wines, I loved the Painted Turtle brand!! So great with some cured meats!
