Copper Pot is a very good place to go for Canadian cuisine. Copper Pot is romantically set in the Grandin area over looking the legislature building and the high level bridge. The ambiance is very romantic.
I have been there twice and this is what I had the first time....

My dish was the Braised Bison Short Ribs with Duck Sausage-House made Duck sausage and braised Bison short ribs, served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the use of the seasonal vegetables. The leeks, lentils, potatoes, long brocolli are used beautifully in all their dishes.

Ryan had the Seafood pasta-Seabass, Salmon and Halibut with leeks and fennel tossed in a light Rose sauce, served on house made fettuccini, topped with chive creme fraiche
Recently this is what we had on the second visit..
Started with bread and I think it was flavored butter....

We ordered off of the Summer set menu (either $29 or $39)... It is worth it and they let us use the coupon on top of it! It is a really good deal!
For the starter we all had the Curried Carrot soup. (Yum!)
Tim had the NY steak with mushrooms with Madeira reduction.
Vince and I had the Sirloin Steak with herbed compounded butter and Gorgonzola on top. (I LOVE GORGONZOLA on a nice steak... gorgonzola cheese is also very good with steamed mussels.)

For desert Tim and I choose the Earl Grey Creme Brulee (so goood!!) the custard was a light grey. The infusion of earl grey is genius!!!

Vince had the flourless chocolate cake...
Note: the homemade vanilla ice cream.... So delicious!
Happy Eating!!! I think there is still time to go here for the Summer menu!!
